SKELETONWITCH UNVEILS SEVEN-MINUTE EPIC 'RED DEATH, WHITE LIGHT'

New EP 'The Apothic Gloom' due Aug. 19 and available for pre-order now; band's tour kicks off Aug. 2

SKELETONWITCH have transcended genre boundaries over the past decade with their trademark mixture of blackened thrash, death and heavy metal. It should therefore come as no surprise that their new EP, "The Apothic Gloom" (due Aug. 19), features some of their catchiest riffs and most pummeling rhythms to date, as well as more shredding than ever before. For proof, check out the seven-minute "Red Death, White Light," which is now available for instant download along with any digital pre-order of "The Apothic Gloom." Stream the epic track below via YouTube.

Channeling new energy via the addition of Adam Clemans (Wolvhammer) on vocals, the Ohio-based quintet headed to Baltimore's Developing Nations Studio earlier this year to record "The Apothic Gloom" with producer Kevin Bernstein (Noisem, Mutilation Rites). Eager to showcase their new sound, the band released the new song "Well of Despair," described by Noisey as "a cold blast of icy, melodic black metal," in advance of their appearance on this year's Decibel Magazine Tour alongside Abbath, High on Fire and Tribulation.
The complete track listing for "The Apothic Gloom" is as follows:

1. The Apothic Gloom (5:58)
2. Well of Despair (3:54) (watch)
3. Black Waters (3:47)
4. Red Death, White Light (7:12) (watch)

Digital pre-orders are available now at the following locations:

SKELETONWITCH have cemented their reputation as one of metal’s hardest-working acts, whether on high-visibility tours with the likes of Danzig, Ozzy Osbourne's Ozzfest, Arch Enemy, Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth, Ghost and The Black Dahlia Murder or on their own headlining treks, such as their run of 63 shows in 65 days to wrap up the touring cycle for 2011's "Forever Abomination." The group will make their way across Canada this August surrounding the release of "The Apothic Gloom." See below for additional information. A full U.S. tour is also currently in the works; stay tuned for further details.
