Atlanta Metallers CLOAK Premiere "The Hunger" at NCS

Atlanta's genre-busting metallers CLOAK have premiered the first song from its upcoming vinyl 7" release, courtesy of No Clean Singing. Stream "The Hunger" at this location.

CLOAK will release its self-titled debut 7" EP on Boris Records June 20. Pre-orders now available at https://borisrecords.bandcamp.com/album/s-t-2.

Screw sub-genre classification, CLOAK just plain kills it! On Samhain of 2015, CLOAK entered Rising Tide Studios with Anthony Lunn to record the EP. "In the Darkness, the Path" is a crushing mid-paced track that is by far the band's heaviest, while "The Hunger" presents an eerie, ghastly sound to close the record off. The lyrical concepts for each are just as important as the music itself, focusing on the spiritual transformation that opposes what most would deem as earthly truths. The result of the recording is one of pure chaos that haunts you well after the music is over.

Track List:

1. In the Darkness, The Path
2. The Hunger

"An absolute gem. Incredible songwriting prowess.
- No Clean Singing

"Old school doom in the vein of Black Sabbath, Pentagram, and Saint Vitus."
- Crown of Viserys

"It's dark, eerie, full of energy and a bit sinister."
- Roppongi Rocks

Based in Atlanta, GA, CLOAK is comprised of Scott Taysom (guitar and vocals), Sean Bruneau (drums), Max Brigham (guitar), and Matt Scott (bass). While many bands choose to corner themselves with a limited sound, CLOAK dares to defy genre classification by creating music that is dark yet palatable enough to lure a broad audience; with inspirations ranging from the destructive and penetrating progression of DISSECTION to the seductive and gothic melancholy of FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM with the infectious grooves of PENTAGRAM. To live up to these influences, the band decided to hide their work until they were completely satisfied with the finished product. Back in the Summer of 2015, CLOAK released their self-titled demo on Bandcamp and then brought their music to the stage in a series of annihilating shows.
