Necromancing The Stone declares war on "Breakdownicus Gratuitous" with new album, 'Jewel Of The Vile'; launches first single, "The Siren's Call"

It is sonic savagery worth banging your head to."

Denner / Shermann launches trailer for upcoming video, "Son of Satan"

The trailer for the long-awaited music video, "Son of Satan", from Denner / Shermann has been released. The track is taken from the band's new studio album, Masters of Evil, which will be released on June 24th via Metal Blade Records. Swedish director Owe Lingwall shot the video entirely at studio 1646 in Umea in Northern Sweden. The date for the world premiere of Denner / Shermann's "Son Of Satan" music video will be announced shortly.

Watch the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AiU1xHtxkQ

To hear the first single, "Angel's Blood", and a 90-second audio clip of Masters Of Evil, please visit: metalblade.com/dennershermann - where the record can also be pre-ordered in various formats!

Masters Of Evil contains 8 new Denner / Shermann tracks that continue right where the EP, Satan's Tomb (2015), left off. Building upon the musical foundation of Satan's Tomb, these songs cover the entire gamut of heavy metal nuances and take the listener down a mysterious path where tales of dark, supernatural fantasies are told, transporting you to places that can only be found in the most vivid, blood curdling nightmares. Fully loaded to satisfy the old fans with just what they would expect, Masters Of Evil is also injected with menacing, sinister, new surprises that could only come from the sonic DNA of Michael Denner and Hank Shermann.

The album cover for Masters Of Evil was painted by Swedish artist Thomas Holm, who also created the artwork for Satan's Tomb - and who is very well known amongst fans for his standout pieces over the past three decades! The mixing was once again handled by Arnold Lindberg at Sound Industry Studio in Gothenburg, Sweden - who also engineered Satan's Tomb.. Mastering was done once again by Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles, California. The vintage sound on the new record harkens one back to the days of 2 inch tape machines, long nights in dark studios, and huge consoles glowing under dim incandescent light. Once the guitars hit your ears, the unmistakable trademark guitar sound of Michael Denner and Hank Shermann is instantly recognized. Prepare yourself for a heavy metal thrill ride!

Stay tuned for more news - and tour dates! - coming soon!

Revocation premieres lyric video for "Monolithic Ignorance" via Stereogum.com

Having delivered five killer albums boasting some of the most potent, technical and abrasive metal unleashed over the last decade, it would be easy for Revocation to sit back and rest upon their laurels. However, with their constant drive to push their sound ever forward and refusal to compromise their integrity, this could never be the case - and Great Is Our Sin is their most dynamic, boundary-pushing and weighty release to date.

Today Stereogum.com is presenting the second audio offering off of Great Is Our Sin. The lyric video for the song "Monolithic Ignorance" can be viewed here: http://www.stereogum.com/1881781/revocation-monolithic-ignorance-stereogum-premiere/mp3s

Great Is Our Sin is slated for a July 22nd release date via Metal Blade Records. To hear the first single, "Communion" - and to pre-order the record in various formats! - please visit: http://www.metalblade.com/revocation

When it came time for the follow-up to 2014's Deathless, the quartet had their work cut out for them, and their response to the challenge is a record that grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. Never forcing anything, the songs that would comprise Great Is Our Sin came together organically, and while the members being spread all around North America would have been an impediment to some, Revocation drew strength from it.

Reuniting with producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Bleeding Through), who also helmed Deathless and 2012's Teratogenesis EP, the record packs the requisite punch, yet retains the organic feel with which it was conceived. Known for their technical prowess, the band remained dedicated to upping the ante without ever losing sight of the importance of good songwriting.

Regardless of the state of the world, nothing is going to slow Revocation down any time soon. Whilst the lineup has changed over the ten years the band has been in existence, Davidson's passion has never waned, and they are arguably sounding better than ever as they look toward the future. "We can't wait to bring these songs out on the road and perform them for different audiences all over the world. 'Great Is Our Sin' is a new chapter for the band, and collectively we feel that it is our defining record to date."

Great Is Our Sin track-listing:
1. Arbiters of The Apocalypse
2. Theatre of Horror
3. Monolithic Ignorance
4. Crumbling Imperium
5. Communion
6. The Exaltation
7. Profanum Vulgus
8. Copernican Heresy
9. Only the Spineless Survive

Hammers of Misfortune reveals details for new album, 'Dead Revolution'; launches title track online

On July 22nd, West Coast progressive heavy metallers Hammers of Misfortune will release their sixth full-length, Dead Revolution, worldwide via Metal Blade Records. Hammers of Misfortune enlisted Nick Dumitriu (Vhol, Ritual Chamber) to produce this record, utilizing a vintage Trident board and minimizing digital processing. The result is a warm, sharp sound that harkens back to productions like John Leckie's treatment of Pink Floyd's Meddle or David Hitchcock's master work in Camel's Mirage

For a preview of Dead Revolution - and to pre-order the album in various formats! - please visit: metalblade.com/hammersofmisfortune, where the title track is streaming.

Recorded at Light Rail Studios in San Francisco, CA, Dead Revolution is more varied than its predecessor (2011's acclaimed 17th Street), by using different tones, and delving into heavier, darker territory. With tracks like the stupendous "The Precipice", the raging "Flying Alone", and the riff-organ fest that is "Dead Revolution", Hammers Of Misfortune have found a way to indulge their progresssive and psychedelic tendencies while remaining decidedly metal. That's not to say Dead Revolution is without its slow-burners: "Here Comes the Sky" pivots off a Pink Floyd axis (think "A Pillow in the Wind") - with its soft strums, careful vocal interplay, and delicate percussion - before jettisoning into traditional heavy metal motifs. "Of course, every song stands out to me," says principal songwriter and guitarist John Cobbett. "I've no idea how listeners will react to them. 'The Velvet Inquisition' is probably one of the most ambitious compositions we've ever recorded. I was trying some different writing methods and the results are...interesting. 'Days of '49' is an attempt to repurpose an old traditional folk song, which is new for us."

See below for the official track-listing, and stay tuned for more news coming soon!

Dead Revolution track-listing

1. The Velvet Inquisition
2. Dead Revolution
3. Sea of Heroes
4. The Precipice (Waiting for the Crash...)
5. Here Comes the Sky
6. Flying Alone
7. Days of '49
